Types Of Cancer

Basic Types Of Cancer

1. Chemotherapy (Chemo)

This powerful drug inhibits the spread of cancer, slows down or kills cancer cells. It can cause side effects as it kills the fast-growing cells in your body including blood, mouth, digestive system, and hair follicles. There are over 100 types of chemo. Your doctor will choose the best one for your type of cancer. You can take it as a pill or capsule, rub it on your skin like a cream, or take it at home or in the hospital as an injection or IV.

2. Outer beam radiation

This treatment attacks cancer cells with high-energy particles (protons or particle therapy) or waves (X-rays). It kills or destroys cells in a specific area instead of your entire body. The most common type comes from a machine outside your body. This is called external radiation.

3. Indoor lighting

You will hear that your doctor is a prosthetist. They place a radiological implant about the size of a grain of rice inside your body where the tumor occurs. Radiation kills cancer cells. This treatment makes you radiate for a while, so avoid others as much as you can.

4. Open surgery

Surgical cancer treatment works best if you have a solid tumor in one area. It often does not treat infectious cancer or leukemia, a blood cancer. The surgeon removes as much of the tumor as possible by making an incision in your skin with a scalpel or other sharp instrument. They can take lymph and other tissues for examination. This is called the open function.

Types Of Cancer

5. Minimally invasive surgery

The goal of this procedure is equivalent to open surgery: removal of the tumor and, if necessary, removal of tissues and lymph nodes. Instead of large incisions, the surgeon made several small incisions. They put a tube in the cut with a small camera to see your body, the rest of the equipment. This is called laparoscopic surgery. It generally has a shorter recovery time than open surgery.

6. Other surgery

Cryosurgery uses hydrothermal nitrogen or argon gas to freeze abnormal tissues. It treats some early skin cancers, retinoblastoma, and pre-existing areas of your skin or ******.

Photodynamic therapy is laparoscopic surgery in which drugs are placed close to the tumor. The light activates the drug, and it kills cancer cells.

Laser surgery uses a strong light to cut off your skin. This is good for a very small area. Lasers can also shrink tumors.
